Yozgat City Hospital located in Yozgat / Turkey has been successfully validated at Stage 7 of the international HIMSS Analytics EMRAM standards. In demonstrating compliance against the standards Yozgat City Hospital has reaffirmed its commitment to use technology to improve patient safety and the overall quality of clinical care.
The Stage 7 success has been enabled by Electronical Medical Record provider AKGÜN who have been working in close partnership with the hospital for a number of years.
Dr Alper Ozgur M.D. a Cardiovascular Surgeon at the hospital said “As a clinician, the EMRAM Stage 7 certification process substantially improved my effectiveness in the surgical treatment of chronic diseases. This digital transformation means my patients' complete data is available in a private and secure form, which allows me to have practice-changing results.”
Yozgat City Hospital was validated at Stage 7 by HIMSS Analytics inspectors Jorg Studzinski and John Rayner who said: “This is a good hospital that has made significant progress since their Stage 6 validation in 2017. We have had the privilege of working with them for a number of months now and it has been a real pleasure to watch them embrace the Stage 7 standards in such a positive and meaningful way. Whilst all Stage 7 hospitals are impressive, Yozgat City has done a particularly good job with device integration. They were able to provide us with a long list of medical devices that have been integrated with the Electronic Medical Record which in return will significantly improve the accuracy and timeliness of data collection and hopefully increase the speed at which clinical decisions are made. Yozgat City Hospital have invested significantly in their technology enabled transformation programme and now must be clear about benefits and how value is to be measured”
Dr Aziz Ahmet Surel, Chief Physician and Hospital Director said “All the preparations for the EMRAM Stage 7 validation steered us to plan our investments efficiently and to create roadmaps on-the-go. With decision support and benchmarking, EMRAM is a valuable tool in the digital transformation of healthcare ensuring essentials in privacy, security, and applicability.”
Yozgat City Hospital representatives will receive the award at HIMSS & Health 2.0 European conference which is being held in Helsinki, Finland on the 11th – 13th June 2019. The event is organised by HIMSS Europe and has the support of the Finnish Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, SITRA (The Finnish Innovation Fund), Business Finland, The City of Helsinki, The University of Helsinki, HUS Helsinki University Hospital, OuluHealth, Turku Science Park and Messukeskus Helsinki, Expo and Convention Centre. The event is expected to attract over 2,000 digital health stakeholders from across Europe and beyond.
The EMR Adoption Model (EMRAM) is an eight stage model that measures digital maturity in hospitals. Achieving EMRAM Stage 7 reflects the desire of the hospital to become paperless and to use Information and Technology in a way that creates benefit for both patients and clinicians.
