The newest among HIMSS Europe Communities, the Nursing Informatics Community launched on 12 June, 2019, during the HIMSS & Health 2.0 European Conference 2019 in Helsinki. HIMSS, together with the Finnish Nurses Association and under the frameworks of the HIMSS Partner Innovation Exchange has launched the “HIMSS Nursing Informatics Community” with the vision to make a step forward in clinically led healthcare transformation. As Europe’s first community devoted solely to a distinct segment of the workforce, the Nursing Informatics Community is ambitious in supporting nursing professionals from across Europe with resources required to lead the next wave of digital healthcare transformation.
VISION
To successfully adapt and utilize advancements in healthcare IT and to provide better care through information and technology.
MISSION
To incorporate technology and information into daily workflows and improve the quality of patient care by supporting workforce development efforts and empowering nursing professionals.
The Community counts now with representatives from five countries: United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, The Netherlands and Finland.
Honoring the 200th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, WHO has declared 2020 as the “Year of Nurse and Midwife” and HIMSS Nursing Informatics Community excitedly looking forward to digital empowerment of nurses, networking and knowledge support for professionals and many more.
