Topic 2: “Secondary use of health data”

Where is the Nordic region when it comes to secondary use of data? Speakers from different countries will share insights, best practices and pilot projects. In addition, this topic will invite stakeholders from the region to discuss next practical steps. How can the Nordic countries work together, across borders?

Topic 3: “Bimodal concept: challenges to govern the fast development of digitization”

The sessions addressing this topic will present real Nordic cases where health IT systems have been implemented successfully and how the benefits of digitization have been measured thus far. The topic will also focus on benefit realization, and will review the latest changes to the HIMSS Analytics EMR Adoption Model and the Continuity of Care Model.

Country Education Sessions

Swedish Education Session:

Secure implementation of eHealth services and solutions. Next steps post Swedish Tenders.

Monday 5 March
(10:00 – 12:00, Sands Venetian, Level 3, Room: Lido 3104)

(Session language: English and Swedish)

Sweden has an ambitious mission when it comes to healthcare: “In 2025, Sweden will be best in the world at using the opportunities offered by digitization and eHealth to make it easier for people to achieve good and equal health and welfare, and to develop and strengthen their own resources for increased independence and participation in the life of society”. In addition, several Swedish counties are currently undergoing big tenders which will define their future healthcare information systems.

It is therefore now more relevant than ever for Swedish and Nordic stakeholders to come together and share perspectives around the opportunities and challenges which are imminent in the context of the digitization of health and care in Sweden.

This educational session will present us with the opportunity to get together will our US peers and learn how some North American organisations have faced similar challenges, with a particular focus on secure implementation. A moderated discussion will follow where the aim is to see how we can get use of the US experience in our Swedish context.

The challenges to discuss are:

How can we securely implement the future eHealth solutions and services?

  • Which organizations will set up and manage the requirements?
  • How can we assure validation of clinical benefits?
  • Which standards or other agreements will be used and how will they be implemented?
  • How are we creating an eHealth eco-system that allows implementation of new state of the art eHealth solutions?

This session is organised by: Hans Almvide, Conference Manager Vitalis with support of Henrik Moberg - Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, Niklas Eklöf - Swedish eHealth Agency, Mikael Johansson - Inera AB, Johan Lidén – Swedish Medtech
